As a future-oriented, responsible company, it is essential to effectively protect yourself against possible cyber attacks. To prevent this danger, your own IT structures should be intensively checked for possible weak points. In order to be prepared for a possible attack itself, the KUS Pfaffenhofen had the current security of its IT structures put to the test by Trufflepig Forensics. The central part of the pentest was to look at the company from a hacker"s perspective and thus uncover possible vulnerabilities. Using their own software tools, the experts from Trufflepig Forensics thoroughly examined the company"s IT structures. Based on the data obtained, a risk evaluation was then carried out and critical security gaps were identified.
After the pentest, Trufflepig Forensics presented the results to the company, presented a comprehensive catalog of measures and provided concrete solutions to help the KUS Pfaffenhofen to be better protected against hacker attacks in the future.
“The presentation at the end was very helpful in raising our awareness of IT security. We went through the results together and found that we are already quite well positioned. But there were still a few “aha” moments where we can now focus in the future,” says Hofner, summarizing the collaboration.
It is also hoped that the KUS"s role model status will raise other companies" awareness of IT security: “As part of the Fit für Digitalisierung seminar series, we talk to many companies and repeatedly advise them to have an outside view, to look at things from a hacker"s perspective, and then take the appropriate steps to raise awareness of the issue and take precautions to simply become even more secure.”
